About LaGina Mitchell Scott
LaGina Mitchell Scott is a lifelong educator, advocate, and community leader rooted in faith, service, and love. Raised in Memphis, she has dedicated over 20 years to uplifting students and families through education, counseling, and mental health support. A proud mother, grandmother, and nonprofit founder, LaGina brings both personal and professional experience to every space she serves. Now, she's ready to lead District 13 with compassion, accountability, and a vision for stronger, healthier neighborhoods.
Her academic background includes:
A Master’s in Education – School Counseling
An Education Specialist degree in Leadership
A Certification in Christian Counseling

Why I'm Running
"I'm running because District 13 deserves leadership that leads, moves, and serves. I've seen what's missing in our neighborhoods — infrastructure gaps, limited access for youth, and underserved health needs. I've spent my life solving problems. Now, I want to bring that same energy, experience, and accountability to the County Commission."
